Xocoalt is the traditional drink prepared by the Mayans, without sugar, considered a gift from the gods.
We have recreated and updated the recipe for "xocoalt", to stay as close as possible to the original while offering a very pleasant taste.
The name "xocoalt" comes from Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs, where xoco means "bitter" and atl means "water". Indeed, the drink was very bitter and flavored with hot pepper! (Don't worry, we focused on the other ingredients: cinnamon, vanilla and honey).
The Aztecs and Mayans considered this drink sacred and used it in religious ceremonies, due to its energetic properties and stimulating effects.
The texture of the xocoalt was quite dense and frothy, obtained by pouring the drink from a certain height between two containers to create foam (we tried it and... we recommend using a whisk!)

Enjoy hot:
Shake the sachet well before each use, measure 2 teaspoons for a 200 mL cup, gradually pour the hot milk over the cocoa powder while mixing. Let infuse for 1 minute before tasting.
Enjoy cold:
Shake the sachet well before each use, measure 2 teaspoons for a 200 mL cup, gradually pour the milk over the cocoa powder while mixing. Let infuse for 3 minutes before tasting.
